If you’re a recent medical graduate of an accredited Australian or New Zealand university, we have many intern positions that offer core requirements.

Once you apply, the Northern Territory Prevocational Medical Assurance Services (PMAS) conducts a review of all the eligible applicants. Intern positions are then allocated to health services across the Territory - from Top End to Central Australia.

While both Top End and Central Australia health services meet the 47-week minimum MBA general registration standard and offer core and elective terms, there are some slight differences. For example, Top End has a 5-term internship year where interns work at Gove and Katherine, as well as Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional hospitals. Meanwhile, Central Australia and Barkly have a 4-term internship year, and their interns work at Tennant Creek and Alice Springs hospital.

Depending on availability, all applicants are sent to their highest preference where possible.
