Registered Nurse (N2)
If you are applying for a Registered Nurse (N2) position, the “Apply now” button will direct you to our Register of Interest to complete your application.
Here you will nominate your clinical area of experience and have the opportunity to identify an area of interest if you wish to pursue development opportunities in another area.
Please follow the steps carefully and supply the documents requested to ensure a timely assessment of your application.
Your cover letter should address your interest, skills and experience as relevant to the selection criteria.
It must provide the panel with an understanding of how you think your application meets the criteria. You are not required to address each of the selection criteria individually. However, your 1-page cover letter should provide detail on your ability to meet the selection criteria.
Attach a current, comprehensive resume that includes your personal details, relevant clinical employment history and achievements, education, training courses, qualifications and professional memberships/registration.
Referees must include at least one direct line manager or supervising consultant/senior clinician who has been directly involved in overseeing your professional practice in the clinical setting.
If you are successful in receiving an offer of employment, you will be subjected to a Criminal History Check and required to provide local police clearances for all countries in which you have lived for more than one year during the last 10 years.
Under the provision of the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007, it is mandatory for any employee of NT Health to hold a current Working with Children Clearance Notice. They must also carry their photo identification proof of clearance (Ochre Card) at all times whilst engaging in official duties. You will be able to apply for this once you arrive in the Northern Territory.
If you are applying for a role defined as:
- Category A (involving direct contact with blood or body substances) or
- Category B (involving indirect contact with blood or body substances),
you are required to provide confirmation of immune status and/or participate in screening and/or vaccination prior to any offer of employment being confirmed by having the relevant form completed by a General Practitioner or Nurse immuniser.
If you do not agree to participate, your application for employment cannot be considered further.

If you are successfully employed within NT Health, you will be required to undergo periodic health screening and immunisation reviews by the employer.
